You are looking at a 1991 Ford Motor Company Mercury Capri 2+2 Convertible finished in Cardinal Red with Grey Cloth Interior. Outfitted with the SUPER reliable 1.6L 4 Cyl 16V DOHC Mazda Engine, this car is sporty, reliable and gives it’s owner great fuel economy.
This Wonderful ‘Lil Red Capri was sold directly to FoMoCo for life long employee Ruth Berwanger. Ruth worked her entire working career for Ford in Batavia, OH. She ordered this Mercury Capri built to her custom order. It was assembled in Australia at the Broadmeadows Ford Plant in Campbellfield, Victoria and then transported directly to the Ford Transmission plant in Batavia, OH where Ruth worked. This car was never delivered thru a Dealer. Ruth took delivery straight from her employer at the Plant. This can be seen in the SPECIAL window sticker shown in the listing and comes with the car. All the delivery paperwork and original manuals and owner warranty plate come as well.

The Mercury Capri represents the ultimate small, open top sports car. Designed in Italy with distinctive styling and assembled meticulously by good spirited Aussies, this buggy reminds and harkens back to the glory days of small British Open cars. The Capri however has the reliability of a Japanese motor and better electrical construction from FoMoCo. It also sports Front-Wheel-Drive, which greatly increases traction and safety in driving characteristics. Also also the Capri beat the socks off of the Miata, which was rear wheel drive, much more expensive, made with cheaper materials and did not offer rear seating like this 2+2. The CAPRI does SO MUCH …. WELL ! And last but not least this is the MOST popular and desirable color of CARDINAL RED.
