One of the weapons with which the legionaries of Rome conquered large parts of the then known world was the Gladius. The different types are categorized primarily on the basis of the blade.
This Gladius is of the Mainz type with a double-edged blade. It is extremely efficient for cutting and stabbing techniques and was rightly feared in battle
This replica has a blade made of unsharpened EN45 spring steel and the handle and pommel are made of wood.
The sword sheath is made of leather and has elaborately decorated brass and sheet metal fittings, which show the Roman emperors Augustus and Tiberius, as well as support rings on the sides of the sheath.
