is our standard low-tension set in Light Gauge. High strength kevlar core with a smooth nylon exterior. These are generally used for Rockabilly slapping.

strings produce a rich, warm tone with a nice percussive click. They
sound great acoustic or amplified and work well with the bow with no
prep work to the strings.
They come long enough to fit a 4/4 and can easily be trimmed to fit any smaller size.

a quick comment on the sound… They are surprisingly warm, mellow
sounding strings… and yes you can hear the gut sound, particularly in
the upper register during slides. And they bow superbly, I will never
go back to alloy.
The overall response of these strings is much better than I’ve encountered with other wacker type strings… The G is quick and the response is warm, defined with very good articulation… The attack is thick like a gut but a bit more defined.
That being said the overall balance of the strings in terms of string to string and overall amplitude is quite remarkable.  Playing pizz was a very satisfying experience…
What a delightful response these strings have to the bow with no prep work on the string at all!  These impart a sweetness that is reminiscent of “early music”…

I Love the Slap Happy high tension strings I received. The D rings like a
bell with sustain till Tuesday, the G is nice and loud. The E and A are
louder than the metal strings that came with the bass. I was worried
that the “gut tone” color would look too yellow but they look GREAT!
